On March 14, 2025, the 5th edition of the Scientific Conference “Contemporary Challenges of Management, Economics and Finance” was held within the walls of the University of Szczecin. The event, organized by the Department of Human Capital Management, attracted a wide range of scientists, practitioners and students interested in the latest trends in management, economics and finance.

Prof. Barbara Kożusznik, Ph.D., and Olaf Flak, Ph.D., sent a paper to this conference entitled “Influence of Sustainable Team Management In Virtual Teams on Teamwork Performance. Results of Research,” which will be published in the coming months.

The conference was opened by Prof. Patrycja Zwiech, and the plenary session featured distinguished experts Prof. Jan Franciszek Jacko (Jagiellonian University) and Prof. Malgorzata Sidor-Rządkowska (Warsaw University of Technology), who addressed the topic of fairness and transparency of compensation. Their speeches set the stage for further deliberations.

As many as nine panel sessions were held during the day. Participants had the opportunity to listen to papers on such topics as leadership in teams, management under VUCA and BANI, financial risks, ESG investments, onboarding, green competencies or the circular economy. Particularly inspiring were speeches on generative artificial intelligence and its impact on business innovation, and debates on the condition of Europe’s younger generation of workers.

The high level of content of the speeches, the diversity of topics and the interdisciplinary approach made the event not only an opportunity to present research results, but also a stimulus for further scientific research and building valuable relationships.
