Posted by On June 13, 2024, we participated in the ESOF2024 conference. This is one of the most important international conferences with an impact on the transformation of science and the world. The conference was held in Katowice, as Katowice is the European City of Science this year.
During the conference, scientists, entrepreneurs, politicians, journalists and residents discussed the latest developments in various fields of science and art and their impact on society. Participation in the conference was free of charge.
In the workshop part, we conducted a training on research competencies. Participants were able to test their competencies using the tools on this blog.
We believe that the most important resource of a researcher is competence, resulting from talents, interests and what the researcher has learned in the past. We asked participants if they ever thought about whether they communicate well, can work in a team, are assertive and can handle stress well, did they ever think about how these competencies affect scientific work, achievements and collaboration with other researchers?
Participants met with us and tested their research competencies. They learned a list of skills needed at a given stage of their scientific careers, checked online how good they were in these areas and got development tips. We talked about how to develop their research competencies to succeed.
