Recently, there have been many reports on the competencies of the future. Most of them are inspired by artificial intelligence and the increasingly intelligent machines around us. However, if you don’t take momentary trends into account, you can list 10 areas in which we should improve. The areas come from the Future Work Skills 2020 study by the Institute for the Future.
They are:
- Discovering meaning and making meaning
- Social intelligence
- Unconventional and adaptive thinking
- Cross-cultural competence
- Computational thinking
- Skills in using new media
- Transdisciplinarity
- Design thinking
- Managing cognitive load
- Virtual collaboration
