Prof. Martin Euwema is a world-renowned scientist who, through his participation in lectures, seminars, meetings and extensive scientific and teaching activities, encourages students, doctoral candidates to expand their scientific knowledge, continue their studies at the local university and tie their future to the region.
Martin Euwema works at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, ranked among the top 50 universities in the world. The university has ranked No. 1 on Thomson Reuters’ list of Europe’s most innovative universities four times in a row since its launch in 2016.
Prof. Dr. Martin Claes Euwema is one of Europe’s most prominent experts on the topic of competence building, especially in the context of intrapersonal entrepreneurship and social dialogue. He holds a full professorship in Organizational Psychology, is chairman of the O2L research group (Work and Organizational Psychology and Professional Learning) and co-director of the Leuven Center for Collaborative Management. He is a former president of the International Association for Conflict Management (IACM). His research interests include leadership, change, HRM and labor relations, conflict management and mediation.
He has taught at various universities and business schools around the world. He was also the Wei Lung Professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing. He is currently a visiting professor at the Universities of Copenhagen, Beijing Institute of Technology (Beijing) and University of Sevilla. He has more than 30 years of experience as a consultant and mediator. He has co-authored more than 130 articles and books. His research area is mainly on the following topics: dealing with stress and interpersonal conflict in the workplace, combining work, study and private life in physical, digital and virtual environments, collaboration in different teams, promoting intrapersonal entrepreneurship, dealing with difficult managers, developing personal competencies in building a safe and pleasant work climate, soft skills, women in managerial positions.
